The Keene Valley sprawls before the lens. Bounding its near extent is the ridge of Hopkins/Spread Eagle Mts; to its left (west), the trailing slopesof the Wolfjaw-Hedgehog-Rooster Comb-Snow Mountain ridge. In the far distance, near center frame, the summit of Whiteface Mountain peeks over Kilburn and Sentinel mountains (Sentinel Range).

Autumn on the Sentinel Mountains
The orange-reds of fall are scattered across the slopes and vallys of the Sentinel Mountain range, as an early-evening sun brings out the contours of the mountains themselves. Pine and Stewart Mountains are visible center-frame; Sentinel Mountain forms the rop-right horizon; the summit of Little Whiteface Mountain and its ski lifts are visible near the lower-middle of the shot.
