The USS Constitution was first set afloat in Boston in 1797. Notariaty came with the War of 1812, where she gained the nickname "Old Ironsides" for her oak hull's ability to deflect the British frigate "HMS Guerriere's" cannonfire.

The ship has been preserved not only as a heritige icon, but also as a training vessel for Navy sailing staff. At nearly 217 years old (2014), she is the oldest commissioned warship in the U.S. Navy.
